From burnout to salon and academy
In 2020, I experienced a burnout. The combination of working for years in a field that didn’t suit me, a challenging upbringing, and becoming a mother led to this. I made a drastic decision that transformed my life.
I started the first salon in the Netherlands where i combined ASMR triggers with massage techniques in unique and exclusive sessions. Clients were immediately enthusiastic. Finally, a salon where you can experience live ASMR, with massages that are calm, gentle, and solely aimed at deep relaxation.
From the very first moment, I knew that entrepreneurship was my path.
In recent years, I was often asked if I would share this unique concept with others. And I wanted to, with pleasure. Thus, the Academy was born alongside the thriving salon. At the Academy, I train people like you to become ASMR experts. Participants see a significant increase in both their revenue and job satisfaction after adding ASMR Head Massages to their services.

Caring as second nature
I always worked in healthcare. First as a nurse in home care, then as a mental health worker, and later as a pedagogical assistant in childcare. What I did was good, but I didn’t really enjoy it. I envied people who spoke with fire and passion about their work, something I had never experienced. Eventually, after doing this long enough, I had a burnout. Change was crucial; there was no turning back.
I had experienced ASMR for years without being aware of it. A few years ago, I discovered that ASMR was scientifically proven and recognized worldwide. I also learned that the topic is still somewhat taboo, despite millions of videos on YouTube featuring roleplays, whispering, and licking lollipops—things that didn’t resonate with me at all.
What did resonate were the calm and gentle head massages, incorporating gentle hair play, hair pulling, and other ASMR triggers like rain sticks, jade rollers, and scents. During my pregnancy in 2019, I told my husband that I wanted to open a salon where I could offer clients ASMR triggers such as scents, gentle hair play, and soothing massage techniques focused entirely on the head. His advice was to become a mother first and see how that impacted my energy, taking it one step at a time.

The salon was established in 2020, just as I became a mother, was dealing with a burnout, and had zero experience with massages. Yet, I felt with every fiber of my being that I needed and wanted to do this. I experienced a level of energy, passion, and fulfillment I had never known before.
So, I learned facial massage and Indian head massage techniques. While watching ASMR videos on YouTube, I noted what I believed was essential for achieving ultimate relaxation in a session. This inspired me to develop unique massage techniques and practice on willing test clients. Eventually, I created the perfect ASMR & Massage session. And what started as one session grew into more, each with its own focus but all aimed at the same goal.
I believe that ASMR and head massage techniques are a unique and golden combination, offering unparalleled relaxation. The sessions are extremely popular, with clients traveling from all over the Netherlands and beyond, grateful for the opportunity to experience this form of relaxation live. Thousands of clients have said, "I've never relaxed this deeply before. It's a shame it's not closer; I would love to experience this much more often.
My salon is fully booked, generating a great income, and new plans keep emerging!
It’s time to share this with my colleagues! My goal is to spread the unique combination of ASMR triggers and head massages throughout the world. Since there is a growing demand and I can only do so much with just two hands and limited hours in a week, I offer workshops at vocational schools for aspiring hairdressers and beauticians, conduct retreat days, and train experts in my own Academy!
